From a very young age, Michelle was obsessed with fashion and the world of clothing. Some of her first memories are associated with what outfit she was wearing during that specific time. Michelle attended Washington State University (Go Cougs!) for her undergrad, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts in Communications. Post graduation, she decided to take a leap of faith! Michelle left the great state of Washington and headed to sunny, Los Angeles to live.

It was there that she finally decided it was time to follow her real passion. She enrolled in the Visual Communication program at FIDM and earned her professional degree one year later. After different roles in the clothing and product industry Michelle decided it was time to embark on her dream and create her own collection - Shay & Coco was born.
